Finding the right fit with your therapist is one of the most important choices in the counseling experience!
I am a NJ and PA Licensed Professional Counselor, NJ Licensed Clinical Alcohol and Drug Counselor, and Approved Clinical Supervisor with an extensive background in mental health counseling, substance use treatment, clinical supervision, and clinical leadership.
Over the course of my career, I have had the opportunity to work with adolescents and adults in many levels of care. Through my experiences working with individuals who experience heightened mental health symptoms, I have developed an ease and laid back nature that helps make those initial sessions feel more comfortable. I deeply value rapport-building in the therapy space, and I take time to establish the therapeutic relationship so that we can achieve goals together!
My clinical experience includes supporting clients with anxiety disorders, mood disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorders, trauma histories, substance use disorders, codependency, and challenges related to neurodivergence.
My person-centered approach is rooted in empathy, collaboration, and authenticity. I believe that for my clients to live shamelessly, I must also show up in sessions as my authentic self. I bring a mix of warmth, quirk, and directness in sessions so that my clients can feel comfortable in the often uncomfortable road to change. In sessions, I am always excited to bring in creativity, hard questions, and a touch of dark humor.
I draw from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and strengths-based approaches to help clients work toward meaningful goals and lasting growth. I have a wide range of evidence based tools, training, and techniques, balanced with a genuine desire to get to know my clients and help them find their own tools for wellness.
Values & Interests
I am an intersectional feminist and a politically active, passionate advocate for the LGBTQIA+ community. I believe that a major ethical obligation for therapists is to actively engage in social justice, advocate against systems of power that interfere with individuals’ ability to live freely and safely, and take care in my work to affirm and support each individual’s identity and freedom of choice.
I am also a Self Identified Elder Emo. My personal guided meditation is always the sensory experience of a really great moshpit, and I truly believe that music can heal the soul.
In my time outside of work, I am a woman of many hobbies. I enjoy going to concerts, traveling whenever I get the chance, playing Dungeons & Dragons, and trying out as many new forms of art as I can. I’m passionate about reading, getting tattoos, and spending time with my dog. As a lifelong learner, I am currently taking weekly piano lessons and French classes, and gratefully being humbled each week.
If any of this connects with you, I’d love to hear from you!
